SAINTS ALIVE! is produced by the Christian Education Committee, a sub committee of the Vestry, in an attempt to meet the requirement of Diocesan Regulation 18/5 which states, inter alia, that ‘The Vestry shall prepare and submit to the respective Regional Council for its consideration Programmes for the Mission of the Church in the Parish including Christian Education.’
SAINTS ALIVE! is a monthly newsletter, normally published on the third Sunday of each month, with Christian Education as its broad aim. More specifically, the objectives are: 1. To encourage thinking, writing, discussion and action on issues of faith, thereby deepening our understanding of and our commitment to our faith. 2. To enhance communication between the clergy, parish organisations and parishioners and to provide information about our Church and the people and work of parish organisations. 3. To provide a forum for the issues, views and concerns of the young people of the parish. 4. To present such Diocesan and Provincial information, as may be appropriate, and to provide information on Church policy on matters of faith and current issues.
We wish to encourage all members of our parish to read, reflect and respond to SAINTS ALIVE! - your parish newsletter. We look forward to reading your comments and your suggestions as to how we might provide you with a better newsletter! We would especially like to receive articles from you on topics which might include: 1. A personal testimony 2. A review of an appropriate book 3. Your opinion on matters of current concern, within the parish or the nation 4. A response to a thought-provoking or challenging sermon/address 5. Information about activities of parish groups 6. Information on the history or people of All Saints’ parish.
We look forward to hearing from you! You can reach us at the All Saints' Church office. . The Christian Education Committee is delighted that past and current issues of SAINTS ALIVE! can be viewed online. Hopefully, this will enable us to reach a wider audience. The Committee is also very pleased to see that All Saints has finally taken the progressive step of having its own website and we congratulate those who have worked on this for the benefit of us all.
