A Message from the Bishop of Trinidad and Tobago
Clive Abdulah
I am delighted to send to the People and Clergy of the Parish of All Saints, my heartiest
good wishes and congratulations on this their 160th Anniversary of the Consecration of
their Church building.

Thousands, nay millions have entered its sacred walls and knelt at the altar to receive
'the holy food and drink' of eternal life.  Some have come just to be quiet and be in the
presence of God, to renew their love and commitment to service, or to gain a sense of
direction.  Still others, having attended a service, have received a blessing through the
power of the Holy Spirit, and others still began their membership in the Body of Christ in
the sacrament of Holy Baptism.  Many are they who pledged their commitment  to each
other in Holy Matrimony, and of course in the Providence of God there are those who
have been brought at the end to receive the church's 'last rites', surrounded by their
friends and loved ones.

But in all of this, there is a clear message that those who enter are to be sent out to be
'the Body of Christ' in the world where 'they live and move and have their being'.   The
church gathers in a particular place only to be 'sent forth', and this process is to continue.
Those who have gone before have left us a goodly and godly heritage, and it is for us to
do our best to ensure that what we have received we pass on, unsullied but renewed, to
those who come after.

May God give us the grace to be faithful to this Divine Commission.

In His Service

+  Clive  Abdulah (Retired Bishop of T'dad. & T'go.)
