Thank You

The Outreach Ministry of the All Saints’ Anglican church would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation
and thanks to all who supported our ministry to the elderly, sick and shut-in members of our parish,
on Saturday 14th April, 2007.  Thanks to those persons who helped with our expenses and gift
tokens.  Thanks to the members of the various organisations who responded to our request, those
members of the congregation who came and assisted and all others who gave their support at very
short notice.  We wish to acknowledge and thank the All Saints’ Pan Ensemble, the older children
from the Sunday School and the members of the Marionettes who have given their time and assisted
in making our senior members comfortable. A special word of thanks to those who assisted in
providing transportation.  Special thanks as well, to the matrons of the Gordon home, Cledor House,
“Marian Villa”, Palm Haven, “Caring Hands”, The Lodge, Mary Jenny Poole and St. Mary’s Senior
Citizen Home for allowing their residents and Nurses to attend.  Very special thanks to those relatives
and caregivers who shared this service and luncheon with us. Finally to our elderly, sick and shut-in
parishioners who attended this service, without your presence the service would not have been as
successful as it was, a very special Thank You.  Blessings and Peace to you all.
Easter Thanksgiving Service for the Sick and Shut-in - 2007
What a truly, truly wonderful Saturday morning into afternoon was April 14th!  It
could've been February 14th, Valentine's day, for all the love and sharing that
enveloped All Saints on that day.  Or it could've been Christmas day---it certainly felt
like it!  And not because of the Christmas song--'It's Not The Things You Do At
Christmas Time'--being softly played in the background.

There was simply a 'feel' to the whole event.  The lunch was certainly  something of
Christmas fare, and quite tasty.  In addition, all our elderly went away, each with
his/her bag of goodies!

The church was packed, relatively speaking, 80 plus elderly.  I certainly made an
excellent choice last saturday...quite removed from my typical saturday.  I felt like
Mary, and not the usual Martha, choosing instead to sit quietly and listen to Canon
B.

As we headed towards the car, my 11year-old son--who, ever so willingly agreed to
assist with the elderly--beamed: Mummie, I enjoyed this saturday!  It felt good!

Thank you, Yolande, and your team, for last 'feel good' saturday 14th.  Here's hoping
we have many more feel good saturdays---in whatever  form----to come.

Yes, it's the little things we do all year through.
